Judith Corrado of Batavia, Ohio, is gearing up to go to court where she is suing Drees Homes, one of the nation's largest home builders, for $25,000. The reason behind the lawsuit is the vinyl siding on her new home is melting.
Corrado says she believes that her home is melting due to a neighbor's energy efficient windows reflecting enough light and heat to warp the siding. She was upset that there was no warning of this possibility:
When you do your walkthrough of your brand new house they don’t say, ‘"You know your siding could melt, just so you know it could melt before you buy it,’" but that was never told to me.
