The generation of young adults known as "Millennials" will face a variety of maintenance and construction needs--including roof repairs and replacement--as they move slowly into home ownership. But don't treat them like your older customers. They're the first generation to have access to the Internet as they grew up, notes GAF, and they're more racially diverse and better educated than earlier generations. So, GAF has come up with a number of suggestions for making successful business partnerships with them. The list includes developing short and to-the-point sales pitches, creating a social media presence, getting familiar with apps, such as the GAF Roofing Wizard, and appealing to their environmental concerns with such services as shingle recycling. Oh, and leave your flip phone behind when you sit down with these prospective customers.
