METALCON runs October 26 through 28 at the Baltimore Convention Center. Participants in the roofing seminar will get training in a number of areas, including substrates, safety, sealants, flashings, fasteners and tools. The intent is to couple training with an opportunity to visit exhibits on the floor where participants can see live demonstrations of what they have just learned. Scott Kriner, technical director for the Metal Construction Association, said the program would help manufacturers create more efficient and tailored in-house training programs by providing a pool of qualified installers. Registration to attend METALCON opens this month. The certification program takes place on Tuesday, Oct. 25, and Wednesday, Oct. 26. You can learn more about the program by calling 800-537-7765.
