Once employees have downloaded the app, they can clock in and out from a job directly on their smartphones. When they do, the information is delivered through a customized report to the employer. GAF says benefits include a streamlined payroll process, and real-time job costing. The platform also offers special features, such as messaging, field notes and GPS location tracking. “Our contractors have been asking for a labor management solution,” said Jim Slauson, vice president of certified program and services at GAF. “LaborSync’s technology offers them the ability to run their businesses more efficiently and cost-effectively.” LaborSync's Matthew Satalino said employers would benefit by having concrete labor and project hour information on hand, which would allow them to manage crews more effectively. GAF Master Elite and Certified contractors get a 20% discount when they buy the program, GAF said.
