Lyf-Tym was founded in 1966 and currently has six branches, including two locations in Charlotte and branches in Hickory, Monroe, and Greensboro, North Carolina, as well as Roanoke, Virginia. The acquisition should complement Beacon's existing business and capitalize on demand for complementary products in the region. Terms of the sale weren't announced. The deal is the latest in a series of Beacon acquisitions. Beacon last October bought Roofing Supply Group for $1.1 billion in a deal that expanded the company's footprint and improved the company's per share earnings. In December, Beacon picked up three companies, in Dallas, Denver and Omaha. Beacon opened six new branches in 2015, after opening 26 the year before.
