Tommy Keaton, 71, pleaded guilty in February to charges of harboring the undocumented workers in a plea deal that also included the forfeiture of $1.4 million.
The case was brought by the U.S. attorney for the District of Kansas. It was based on a 17-count indictment handed up a year ago, alleging the Kansas City, Kan., roofing company intimidated and coerced workers into paying kickbacks.
Another defendant in the case, 56-year-old Graziano Cornolo, pleaded guilty to charges of unlawful employment of aliens and was placed on probation. He forfeited more than $800,000 plus his interest in $500,000 that had been seized from the company.
The company, Century Roofing, was founded in 1990.
