Jeld-Wen.Mag-Lock, a one-touch magnetic lock, is now standard on Jeld-Wen's Premium Vinyl slider and single-hung windows. The lock operates with just one finger or the side of a hand, the maker says, so it works for the age-in-place market. It is long lasting, resists extreme temperatures, features a streamlined design, and allows users to easily tell whether the window is locked, the maker says. 800.877.9482. www.jeld-wen.com.
Weather Shield. The push-out casement window has hinges with friction devices that allow opened or partially opened windows to stay securely. Oil-rubbed bronze hardware is standard and brushed nickel is available. The window features a hinged wood screen that opens inward, simulated divided lite grille bars, and a historic look, the maker says. It can come in multiple jamb depths and a 49/16-inch standard jamb thickness. 800.477.6808. www.weathershield.com.
EcoStar.EcoVent is a continuous, tile-over ridge vent that helps hot, moist air escape from the attic. Its low-profile design allows it to sit under a roof's hip and ridge tiles, making it less visible. The vent protects against rain, snow, and ice and comes in trimmable 20-foot long by 10½-inch wide rolls. Orders come with 100 stainless-steel roofing nails, which install through visible nail lines on the side of the product. 800.211.7170. www.ecostar.carlisle.com.
Pactiv. GreenGuard DC14 Drainage Board serves as a secondary weather barrier behind exterior cladding. Its polystyrene material allows no water absorption, and the board provides a high level of drainage, the maker says. Large channels in its design allow trapped water to escape and ventilation to dry excess moisture. The board meets weather-resistive barrier requirements and does not require additional house-wrap, the maker says. 888.828.2850. www.pactiv.com.
